DepositDuel is a web + mobile app that helps landlords and tenants document move-in/move-out condition and negotiate security deposit returns with a structured, evidence-first workflow. Users create a property “case,” capture guided photo/video checklists with timestamps, attach receipts (cleaning, repairs), and log communications in one thread. The app then generates a neutral deposit statement and proposes a split based on local rules and typical wear-and-tear standards. If both parties agree, they e-sign and the app records the settlement; if not, it exports a court-ready evidence packet. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps categorize damage vs. wear, detect missing checklist items, and draft clear, non-inflammatory messages. Realistically, it won’t eliminate conflict, but it can reduce the time, confusion, and he-said-she-said that drives disputes.
