DepositGuard is a mobile + web app that helps roommates document move-in and move-out condition fast, consistently, and defensibly. It guides each roommate through a standardized, timestamped photo/video walkthrough of every room and shared area, then generates a clean “Condition Packet” PDF with captions, checklists, and signatures. It also tracks who caused what damage over time using incident logs and optional monthly mini-check-ins, so deposit deductions don’t turn into he-said/she-said fights. This is not a magic dispute solver—landlords can still be unfair—but it dramatically improves your odds by creating organized evidence that’s hard to ignore. Monetization is simple: pay-per-household per lease term, with a free tier that limits exports. The product wins by being boring, practical, and used at the exact moments people care most: move-in and move-out.
