DetourBrief

DetourBrief is a mobile app that delivers “decision-ready” traffic updates for your exact commute, not a full navigation replacement. You set your typical routes and time windows (e.g., school drop-off, office commute, weekend errands). The app monitors incidents, construction, event closures, and abnormal slowdowns, then sends short alerts that answer: What happened? How bad is it? What should I do now (leave earlier, take alternate arterial, avoid a specific ramp)? It also supports lightweight “route receipts” after each trip, showing what delays occurred and whether an alternate would have helped—useful for building trust over time. This is realistic because it doesn’t need to beat Google/Apple/Waze at routing; it focuses on clarity, predictability, and fewer interruptions. Monetization is a subscription for power users plus a small B2B tier for delivery teams.
