DetourProof
DetourProof is a mobile + web map app focused on one problem: unexpected road closures, construction, and event barricades that make normal navigation unreliable. Instead of only reacting after you hit a blocked street, it builds routes using a “closure confidence” layer compiled from city open-data feeds, DOT bulletins, planned event permits, and user-submitted reports with photo/time verification. The app shows a simple risk score per route (low/medium/high) and offers conservative alternatives that prioritize passability over theoretical fastest time. It also supports “commute watchlists” that alert you the night before when your usual route is likely to be disrupted. This is not a general-purpose maps replacement; it’s a reliability add-on for people who can’t afford surprises. Monetization is realistic via a small subscription for commuters and a higher-priced team plan for fleets needing dependable ETAs.
