DICOMDrift

DICOMDrift is a web app (with an optional lightweight on-prem agent) that continuously validates PACS/RIS modality routing, DICOM tag integrity, and study lifecycle completion across sites. It runs synthetic “test studies” and passive log parsing to detect silent failures: missing series, wrong AE titles, broken compression, inconsistent PatientID/Accession mapping, and delayed storage/forwarding. Instead of generic uptime checks, it focuses on clinical impact signals like unreadable priors, hanging worklists, and studies stuck in limbo. The app provides a single dashboard for multi-vendor environments, with alerting that includes probable root cause (modality misconfig, VPN latency, storage threshold, HL7 mismatch) and a step-by-step runbook. Realistically, it won’t replace vendor tools; it complements them by being vendor-agnostic and tuned for the messy reality of mixed PACS, teleradiology, and acquisitions.
