DishDial
DishDial is a mobile + web app that helps home cooks make international recipes using what they can actually buy nearby. Pick a cuisine and dish, then enter your location and dietary constraints. The app generates a “closest-match” ingredient list with realistic substitutions (including brand/store examples where available), plus adjusted quantities and technique notes so the dish still tastes authentic. It also flags hard-to-find items early and offers two alternates: a “purist” version and a “practical” version. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for curated recipe structure and substitution rules, AI for localized swap suggestions, measurement conversions, and step rewrites. Monetization is straightforward: freemium with a subscription for advanced localization, offline packs, and grocery integrations. Expect heavy work on data quality; without it, users won’t trust the swaps.
