DishSight
DishSight is a mobile + web app that helps satellite-internet users choose the best mounting location and aiming plan before drilling holes or calling an installer. Using your phone’s camera, compass, and local obstruction modeling, it generates a simple “line-of-sight risk score” for multiple candidate spots (roof edge, pole mount, wall mount). It also logs real-world performance after install (latency, packet loss, throughput) to validate whether the chosen spot is actually good or if obstructions/weather are the real culprit. This is not magic: it won’t replace professional RF tools, and accuracy depends on phone sensors and user behavior. But for rural homeowners, RVers, and small businesses who can’t easily get a competent installer, it can prevent expensive re-mounts and weeks of frustration. Monetize via one-time “pro survey” purchase and optional subscription for ongoing performance tracking and reports.
