DocDiff Vault
DocDiff Vault is a web app (with optional desktop sync agent) for teams that live in Word/PDF contracts but lack reliable version control. It ingests documents from email, shared drives, and DMS folders, then creates a clean timeline of versions, redlines, and “what changed” summaries. The core value is not storing files—everyone already has SharePoint/Drive/Dropbox—but making change tracking unavoidable and auditable. Users can compare any two versions (even PDF-to-DOC), detect clause-level additions/removals, and flag risky edits (payment terms, liability caps, auto-renewal, termination). It generates a one-page change brief for approvers and keeps an immutable audit trail of who uploaded what and when.
This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional pipelines for ingestion, permissions, and audit logs; AI for clause segmentation, semantic diff, and risk flags. The MVP should focus on a narrow wedge: contract-heavy SMBs and mid-market teams that can’t justify enterprise CLM but still get burned by “final_v7_really_final” chaos. Pricing should be per-seat with a document volume cap to avoid runaway compute costs.
