DocFence

DocFence is a web app (with optional CLI) that adds a “pre-merge safety gate” for document databases like MongoDB and Couchbase. It connects to your staging/prod clusters, samples real documents, and runs automated checks on proposed code changes and migrations: field additions/removals, type drift, index impact, query plan regressions, and write amplification risks. Instead of vague dashboards, it produces a pass/fail report tied to a pull request, with concrete examples of documents that will break and the exact queries likely to slow down. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules and statistical checks do the heavy lifting, while AI summarizes findings into developer-friendly explanations and suggested fixes. This is not a silver bullet—if your team ignores gates or lacks test data parity, it won’t save you—but it can catch the most common, expensive failures before they hit production.
