DocGap

DocGap is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps loan officers and processors prevent “stalled file” chaos by detecting missing, stale, or contradictory documents early. Users upload or forward borrower documents and the app auto-builds a checklist based on loan type, property type, and common lender overlays. It flags gaps like outdated paystubs, unverifiable deposits, inconsistent names/addresses, missing LOEs, and expiring IDs, then generates borrower-friendly requests with plain-language explanations. It also tracks document freshness (e.g., 60-day bank statements) and sends reminders so files don’t die right before closing. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used for document classification, data extraction, and inconsistency detection, but the workflow is rules-first so it’s reliable and auditable. The goal is fewer conditions, fewer re-submits, and faster clear-to-close.
