DockDelay

DockDelay is a mobile + web app that predicts ferry delays and cancellations using real-time vessel positions, weather, tide/current data, and terminal congestion signals. Riders get a simple “leave-by” time, probability of delay, and best alternative sailings (including nearby terminals) instead of vague schedule tables. Operators can optionally publish service alerts, but the app is built to work even when agencies provide limited data by fusing AIS feeds and public weather. It also includes crowd-sourced terminal wait times (vehicle queue length, walk-on line) with lightweight verification to reduce spam. This is an AI + traditional app: AI is used for delay prediction and anomaly detection; the rest is standard transit UX. Realistically, success depends on starting in one ferry-heavy region (e.g., Puget Sound, BC, Norway) and proving accuracy before expanding.
