DockDraft
DockDraft is a mobile + tablet marine chartplotter companion focused on the hardest part of everyday boating: the last mile into marinas, docks, and anchorages where charts are often outdated and depths change. It lets boaters record anonymous depth soundings and approach tracks (from NMEA 2000/0183 gateways or onboard sonar logs) and turns them into fresh, local “shallow risk” overlays on top of official charts. The app highlights likely shoaling zones, suggests safer approach corridors, and warns when your planned track crosses recent low-depth reports at your current tide. It’s not a replacement for certified navigation; it’s a practical, frequently updated situational layer for small craft. Realistically, the biggest challenge is data quality and liability, so the product must be conservative: clear confidence scores, strong disclaimers, and opt-in sharing with privacy controls.
