DocLintX
DocLintX is a plugin for documentation platforms (starting with GitBook and Docusaurus) that continuously audits your docs like a CI pipeline. It scans for broken links, outdated screenshots, missing prerequisites, inconsistent terminology, and “works on my machine” instructions by replaying steps in a lightweight sandbox. It posts actionable pull requests or inline suggestions, assigns owners based on CODEOWNERS, and blocks releases when critical doc checks fail. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules catch deterministic issues (links, anchors, version mismatches), while AI flags confusing phrasing, missing steps, and mismatched UI labels by comparing docs to product UI strings and changelogs. Realistically, it won’t replace writers; it reduces the constant doc rot that kills onboarding and support deflection. Pricing is per repo/site with a team tier for multiple doc properties.
