DonorTripwire is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for political campaigns and PACs to pre-screen contributions for compliance and reputational risk. It ingests donor data (name, address, employer, payment method) and flags likely issues: prohibited sources, excessive aggregate totals, suspicious employer patterns, straw-donor indicators, and missing/invalid fields that trigger reporting errors. It also maintains an audit trail so compliance staff can show what was checked, when, and why a donation was accepted, refunded, or escalated. This is a combination traditional + AI app: rules handle hard compliance thresholds, while AI helps match donors across messy records (typos, nicknames, shared addresses) and summarize “why flagged” in plain language. Reality check: you won’t replace legal counsel, but you can reduce preventable mistakes and save staff hours during high-volume fundraising spikes.
