DoseDetour is a mobile app (iOS/Android) + lightweight web portal that helps patients handle missed medication doses with conservative, source-backed guidance and escalation. Users scan the prescription label or select a drug from a curated database, enter their usual schedule, and tap “I missed it.” The app returns a clear recommendation: take now, skip, or call a clinician—plus a timer to prevent double-dosing. It also generates a one-tap message to a pharmacist/clinic with the exact context (drug, strength, last taken time, symptoms, pregnancy status, kidney/liver issues). This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules for high-risk meds and FDA/label-based instructions, with AI used only to summarize official guidance and draft patient-friendly explanations. It’s intentionally cautious: if the app can’t be confident, it tells you to contact a professional.
