DrainSketch

DrainSketch is a web + desktop companion app for landscape architects to rapidly draft stormwater and grading concepts early in design. You import a base plan (PDF/DWG) and trace proposed hardscape/planting zones; the app estimates runoff, suggests preliminary swale/basin sizing, and flags obvious red issues (insufficient slope, ponding risk, disconnected flow paths). It outputs a clean concept sheet (plan + key callouts) and a simple calculation report you can hand to a civil engineer or use for internal reviews. This is not a full hydrology model and it won’t replace engineering—its value is speed and fewer embarrassing iterations. Optional AI assists by converting sketch annotations into labeled features, auto-generating typical details, and summarizing assumptions. Pricing is per seat with project-based exports, aimed at small-to-mid firms that can’t afford repeated redesign cycles.
