DropScout

DropScout tracks prices across major retailers and flags only real drops, not the constant “was $199, now $129” games. Users paste a product URL (or scan a barcode in-store) and set a target price or “notify on true low.” The app builds a simple price history, estimates typical sale cycles, and warns when a deal is likely to be a short-lived promo versus a recurring discount. It also monitors shipping/tax and coupon stacking so the alert is based on final checkout cost, not headline price. A browser extension captures items from carts and wishlists with one click, while the mobile app handles barcode scans and push notifications. Monetization is realistic: a freemium model with limited tracked items, plus a paid tier for unlimited tracking, multi-store matching, and advanced alerts.
