DuneWatch
DuneWatch is a web app (with an optional mobile companion) for NGOs, land managers, and funders to monitor desertification and restoration projects using satellite imagery and simple on-the-ground check-ins. Users draw project boundaries, set baseline dates, and the app automatically tracks vegetation indices, bare-soil trends, and disturbance signals over time. It generates funder-ready reports with maps, charts, and an audit trail of data sources, reducing the endless manual GIS work and “trust me” photo updates. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional geospatial pipelines plus AI to detect change, flag anomalies, and summarize progress in plain language. It’s not for casual nature lovers; it’s for organizations that must justify outcomes, renew grants, and avoid funding projects that look good in photos but fail on the ground.
