It then recommends lower-cost alternatives with a confidence score and clear “why it’s a match” notes (e.g., undertone similarity, finish, wear claims). It also flags likely disappointments: formula mismatches, oxidation risk, and misleading swatches. The app focuses on a narrow set of categories for accuracy—foundation, concealer, and lipstick—rather than pretending it can dupe everything. Monetization is affiliate links plus a small subscription for advanced filters (cruelty-free, fragrance-free, silicone-free) and price-drop alerts.
