DuplexScout is a web + mobile app that helps buyers, house-hackers, and small landlords quickly identify genuine multi-unit homes (duplex/triplex/fourplex) and avoid the endless “duplex” listings that are actually single-family homes with a basement or an illegal unit. It aggregates listings and public records, then flags likely unit count, separate entrances, metering hints, and zoning compatibility. The app is brutally practical: it won’t promise perfect accuracy, but it will save hours by ranking leads and showing what evidence supports the classification. Users can track properties, add notes after showings, and export a short “due diligence checklist” for lenders/agents. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to classify listings from photos/descriptions and to detect inconsistencies versus assessor data, while core value comes from clean data matching and workflow.
