DutyPilot

DutyPilot is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps importers and customs brokers estimate duties, taxes, and landed cost for shipments before they move. Users enter HS code (or describe the product), origin, destination, value, Incoterms, and shipping mode; the app returns an estimate with assumptions, supporting references, and a confidence score. It also generates a “pre-clearance pack” (commercial invoice checklist, missing data flags, and broker-ready summary) to reduce clearance delays and surprise charges. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI assists with HS-code suggestions, document gap detection, and plain-language explanations, while calculations rely on rule-based tariff data. It’s realistic because most SMEs still use spreadsheets, guesswork, or broker back-and-forth, which is slow and expensive. The app focuses on being good enough for planning, not pretending to replace official determinations.
