EchoCaption
EchoCaption is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that turns nearby speech into large, readable, low-latency captions for in-person conversations—restaurants, clinics, family gatherings, and noisy streets. Unlike generic transcription apps, it’s optimized for short-range, multi-speaker dialogue: quick “who said what” labeling, noise-aware mic selection, and a one-tap “clarify” button that replays the last 10 seconds as text (not audio) to reduce awkward repeats. It also includes a privacy-first mode that processes on-device when possible and clearly indicates when cloud processing is required for higher accuracy. Users can save key snippets (e.g., instructions, addresses) into a secure notes vault. This is a combination traditional + AI app: the core experience is UX and accessibility, powered by speech-to-text models tuned for noisy environments.
