EchoKin

EchoKin is a mobile + web app for capturing oral histories from relatives without turning it into a complicated “project.” You record audio (or video), the app generates a clean transcript, and you tag people, places, dates, and themes so stories become searchable later. It includes guided interview prompts tailored to relationship (grandparent, parent, immigrant aunt, veteran, etc.) and a “memory map” that links stories to locations and timelines. Sharing is controlled: private family vault by default, with per-story permissions and expiring links for extended relatives. The app also produces a simple printable “story booklet” PDF for non-tech family members. This is an AI-assisted app (for transcription, summarization, and entity tagging) but keeps the human voice intact—no synthetic rewriting unless explicitly requested.
