EcoKidScan is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that lets parents scan barcodes/QR codes on kids’ products—bottles, toys, diapers, clothing—and instantly see a plain-English eco and safety score. It flags common greenwashing patterns, highlights material concerns (PVC, BPA/BPS, PFAS, phthalates), and summarizes certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, FSC, GREENGUARD) with what they actually mean. The app suggests truly comparable alternatives by price, availability, and durability, and tracks a family’s “eco swaps” over time. An AI layer extracts claims from product listings/labels, normalizes ingredient/material data, and generates short explanations, but the scoring model stays rule-based and transparent to avoid hallucinations. Revenue comes from subscriptions (deep reports, alerts, family profiles) and affiliate links—though affiliate bias must be disclosed clearly to keep trust.
