EcoReceipt

EcoReceipt is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps parents measure and reduce the environmental footprint of kids’ products using the one thing they already have: purchase receipts. Users forward email receipts or snap paper receipts; the app categorizes items (diapers, wipes, clothing, toys, feeding gear) and estimates impact using a transparent scoring model (materials, durability, recyclability, shipping distance proxies). It then suggests realistic swaps and timing: buy-secondhand prompts, refill options, repair tips, and “wait” nudges when a purchase is likely unnecessary. It also tracks what you actually did, showing monthly progress and cost tradeoffs. This is not a magical “save the planet” app—impact estimates are directional, not perfect. The value is making eco choices practical, measurable, and tied to real spending, not aspirational product browsing.
