EdgeDrift

EdgeDrift is a web app (with optional lightweight agent) that continuously detects configuration drift across edge and distributed nodes—K3s clusters, IoT gateways, retail servers, and remote VM fleets. Instead of trying to be another full device-management suite, it focuses on one painful problem: your “golden” configs quietly diverge, and you only notice after outages, security findings, or failed deployments. EdgeDrift snapshots key system state (OS packages, kernel params, container images, firewall rules, critical files, and Kubernetes manifests), compares it to a declared baseline, and alerts with a human-readable diff and blast-radius view. It supports intermittent connectivity by buffering changes locally and syncing when links return. The MVP can integrate with GitOps repos as the source of truth and generate pull requests to reconcile drift. This is not glamorous software, but it’s the kind teams pay for when they’re tired of firefighting remote sites.
