EdgeDrop

EdgeDrop is a web + mobile app for publishers, local stations, and creators who need reliable content delivery without building a full engineering stack. You upload a video or audio clip once, and EdgeDrop automatically creates adaptive renditions, generates a lightweight player page, and distributes via a CDN with smart regional routing. It includes “drop links” that are optimized for low bandwidth and can be embedded in CMS posts, newsletters, or social bios. For broadcasters, it supports scheduled releases, geo-restrictions, and basic rights windows. You get real-time delivery analytics (startup time, buffering rate, completion) and alerts when a region’s performance degrades. This is not a magic replacement for enterprise OVPs; it’s a focused delivery layer that’s cheaper, faster to set up, and designed for small teams that still care about quality-of-experience.
