EdgeMeter
EdgeMeter is a web app (with an optional lightweight agent) that measures, attributes, and forecasts the real cost of running workloads on edge nodes—across bandwidth, compute, storage, and egress—then flags waste in near real time. Most edge deployments bleed money through silent data transfer, over-provisioned containers, and misconfigured caching, but teams only notice after invoices and outages. EdgeMeter ingests metrics from Kubernetes at the edge, CDN logs, and device gateways, then produces a simple “cost per site / per device / per workload” view with anomaly alerts. It also recommends concrete actions: right-size CPU/memory, tune cache TTLs, compress payloads, and reroute traffic to cheaper regions when latency budgets allow. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for metering and attribution, AI for forecasting, anomaly detection, and actionable recommendations. It’s built for teams that need cost control without hiring a FinOps specialist for edge.
