EDIDForge

EDIDForge is a desktop app (Windows + macOS) for diagnosing and fixing monitor detection problems caused by bad EDID/handshake data across HDMI/DP/USB-C docks, KVMs, and capture devices. It reads EDID from connected displays, compares it to known-good templates, and lets users generate a clean override profile to stop issues like wrong resolutions, missing refresh rates, HDR not appearing, or monitors randomly “disconnecting” after sleep. It includes a guided workflow: identify the chain (GPU → dock/KVM → monitor), run a signal/EDID scan, and apply an OS-level override with rollback. It’s a traditional app with a small AI assist: it can suggest likely fixes based on the symptom pattern and hardware chain, but the core value is deterministic tooling and safe recovery. This is not magic—some hardware is simply broken—but it will save hours for common cases.
