EggLedger is a mobile + web app for managing dairy and eggs at home with a focus on safety and waste reduction. You scan receipts or barcodes, then the app builds a simple inventory with “use-by” timelines, storage tips, and reminders for high-risk items (raw milk, soft cheeses, opened cartons). It supports multiple fridges (home, cabin) and shared households, so anyone can mark items opened, moved, or finished. A lightweight AI layer reads messy receipts, recognizes common dairy/egg products, and estimates realistic spoilage windows based on open date and storage location (fridge door vs back). It also suggests quick “use it tonight” recipes only from what you already have, prioritizing items expiring soon. The goal is not gourmet cooking—it’s preventing the weekly “is this still good?” guesswork and throwing away less.
