EgressGuard

EgressGuard is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integration) that continuously maps and monitors cross-region and cross-cloud data movement, then predicts end-of-month egress charges and flags the exact services, endpoints, and deployments causing the spike. It ingests billing + flow signals (e.g., VPC Flow Logs, CloudWatch metrics, load balancer logs) and correlates them to recent infrastructure changes like new CDN rules, misconfigured NAT gateways, chatty microservices, or backups replicating across regions. The product focuses on fast, actionable remediation: it suggests concrete fixes (move workloads, adjust routing, add caching, change replication policies) and quantifies savings per change. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for reliable ingestion/correlation, AI to summarize root cause, generate “fix plans,” and produce executive-ready incident reports. Realistically, it wins by being narrow: egress and data-transfer waste, not generic FinOps.
