EmbargoEye

EmbargoEye is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for journalists and small newsrooms to manage embargoed press materials, source outreach, and publication deadlines in one place. It focuses on the unglamorous but constant problem: tracking who sent what, when it can be used, what was promised, and what still needs verification. Users can forward press emails into a dedicated inbox, auto-extract key fields (embargo time, attachments, claims), and generate a checklist for reporting tasks. A lightweight AI layer summarizes long press releases, flags unverifiable claims, and suggests questions to ask before publishing. It also logs outreach attempts and reminders so reporters don’t lose track across Slack, email, and notes. The goal isn’t to “write the story for you”; it’s to reduce missed embargoes, sloppy attribution, and dropped follow-ups.
