EnvDrift

EnvDrift is a web app + lightweight agent that watches your automation scripts and runtime environments for “silent” configuration drift. It snapshots key environment variables, package versions, CLI tool versions, secrets references, and filesystem paths used by scheduled jobs (cron, systemd timers, CI runners) and compares them over time. When a job starts failing or behaving differently, EnvDrift shows exactly what changed since the last known-good run and generates a minimal rollback or fix script. It integrates with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and plain Linux hosts, and sends alerts to Slack/Teams with a human-readable diff. This is not a full observability suite; it’s a focused drift-detection and remediation assistant for automation scripts that are brittle in real life. Expect some setup friction (agent install, allowlists), but the payoff is faster root-cause analysis and fewer “it worked yesterday” fire drills.
