EruvWatch
EruvWatch is a mobile + web app that gives Orthodox Jews a reliable, location-based eruv status for Shabbat and Yom Tov, with push alerts when conditions change. It consolidates official updates from local eruv committees (email lists, voicemail lines, PDFs, WhatsApp broadcasts) into a single verified feed, and shows a simple “Up / Down / Unconfirmed” status with timestamp, source, and contact info. Users can subscribe to one or multiple communities (home, in-laws, travel) and set reminders before candle lighting. The app is intentionally conservative: if it can’t verify, it says so—no guessing. This is not glamorous, but it’s practical: people routinely make last-minute decisions about strollers, keys, tallis bags, and carrying based on eruv status. The product lives or dies on trust, so the focus is auditability, clear sourcing, and tight relationships with local authorities.
