EthicsLedger

EthicsLedger is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps research teams document and audit ethical decisions as they happen, not months later during a review. It provides structured “decision logs” for consent changes, protocol deviations, data access approvals, adverse event handling, and participant communications—each entry time-stamped, versioned, and tied to the study’s documents. The app generates exportable audit trails and plain-language summaries for IRBs, funders, and journals, without pretending to replace them. It also includes lightweight templates for common study types (survey, clinical, fieldwork, online experiments) and reminders for recurring obligations (re-consent, retention limits, de-identification checkpoints). An AI assistant can draft entries and summaries from meeting notes, but users must approve everything and attach evidence. The goal is simple: reduce ethical “memory loss,” make accountability easier, and cut the scramble before submissions and audits.
