EVBlend

EVBlend is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that helps plug-in hybrid owners minimize fuel spend by telling them when charging actually pays off. It pulls local electricity rates (including time-of-use), live fuel prices, weather/temperature impacts, and your vehicle’s real-world efficiency to compute a simple “Charge or Gas?” recommendation for each day and trip. It also tracks your blended cost-per-mile over time and flags patterns like frequent short trips that never warm the engine, or highway-heavy routes where EV mode is inefficient. This is not a magic autopilot: it won’t control your car, and it won’t be perfectly accurate without some user input. The goal is practical: reduce monthly fuel costs and make PHEV ownership less confusing, especially for people who don’t have cheap home charging or who face complex utility pricing.
