EventRewind

EventRewind is a web app (with a lightweight agent) that helps engineering teams detect, explain, and prevent event-ordering bugs in real-time pipelines. It ingests traces/logs/stream metadata from Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, and common observability tools, then reconstructs per-entity timelines (userId, orderId, deviceId) to highlight out-of-order arrivals, duplicates, and missing causal links. Instead of generic dashboards, it produces a “replayable” timeline: what arrived, what should have arrived first, where reordering likely happened (producer clock skew, partitioning, retries, consumer lag), and the blast radius (affected downstream services and customer actions). It also generates deterministic test fixtures from real incidents so teams can reproduce issues locally or in CI. This is not magic: it won’t fix bad schemas or missing IDs, but it will drastically shorten debugging time when ordering breaks in production.
