ExitClause

ExitClause is a web + mobile AI-assisted app that helps renters evaluate the real-world cost, risk, and steps to break a lease without getting buried in legal jargon. Users upload their lease PDF, select their state/city, and answer a short questionnaire (reason for leaving, notice given, safety issues, job relocation, etc.). The app extracts key clauses (early termination, subletting, fees, notice periods), flags missing/illegal provisions, and generates a practical action plan: what to send, when to send it, and what evidence to gather. It also includes a negotiation playbook with landlord-ready email/SMS templates and a “replacement tenant” tracker to reduce liability. This is not a law firm and won’t pretend to be; it’s a decision tool that helps users avoid obvious mistakes, document everything, and estimate likely outcomes before they act.
