ExoPermit is a web app with optional mobile companion that helps zoos, sanctuaries, breeders, and educators track permits, inspections, and species-specific regulatory obligations across jurisdictions. Users build an inventory of animals (species, counts, locations, acquisitions/transfers) and the app generates a compliance calendar: renewal dates, reporting deadlines, required record types, and inspection readiness checklists. An AI layer can summarize relevant statutes from official sources, flag likely permit needs when animals move across state lines, and draft submission packets (cover letters, checklists, and document bundles) for human review. Reality check: regulations are messy and change often, so the product focuses on workflow, reminders, and document organization first, with “best-effort” regulatory guidance clearly labeled and source-linked. It’s a compliance operations tool, not a legal substitute.
