FactBridge

FactBridge is a mobile + web AI-assisted app that helps communities verify local rumors, screenshots, and “my cousin said” posts before they go viral. Users submit a claim (text, image, or link) and the app generates a structured verification brief: what’s being claimed, what evidence exists, what’s missing, and a confidence score with citations. It also pulls relevant public records and reputable local sources (city notices, school district updates, utility outage pages, court calendars) and flags common manipulation patterns in images. The goal is not to “decide truth” but to make verification fast, transparent, and shareable. Each brief can be shared as a clean card with sources, timestamps, and an audit trail. Moderation is lightweight: community reporting plus rate limits to reduce brigading. Realistically, it won’t stop misinformation entirely, but it can reduce the speed and reach of the worst local falsehoods.
