FairRoster
FairRoster is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps schools detect and reduce inequities in course placement, discipline, and access to advanced programs. It ingests existing SIS exports (CSV) and produces simple, defensible equity flags: disproportionality by race/ethnicity, gender, disability status, language learner status, and socioeconomic proxy, with confidence intervals and small-n privacy protections. Instead of vague “equity dashboards,” it focuses on decisions schools actually control: who gets recommended for honors/AP, who gets pulled for interventions, who is suspended, and who is chronically absent. The app generates a short “action memo” for principals and counselors: which policies likely drive the gap (prereq rules, teacher recommendations, schedule conflicts) and what to change next cycle. It also tracks whether interventions improved outcomes over time, without pretending to prove causality.
