FairValue is a web + mobile AI app that helps collectors and small galleries estimate a realistic price range for an artwork using comparable sales (“comps”) and market signals. Users upload a photo, enter basic details (artist, medium, size, year, edition), and the app pulls relevant auction results, gallery listings, and historical pricing to generate a comp set with confidence levels. It flags common traps: mismatched editions, condition issues, posthumous prints, and inflated asking prices. The output is a shareable valuation brief for insurance, resale planning, or negotiation—clearly labeled as an estimate, not an appraisal. The app also tracks a user’s collection and alerts them when new comps appear or when an artist’s market shifts. Realistically, it won’t replace expert appraisers for high-end works, but it can make the mid-market far less opaque and reduce overpaying.
