FareGuard
FareGuard is a mobile + web app that audits your public-transit fare history and flags when you were charged incorrectly or missed a fare cap/transfer discount. Many agencies have complex rules (daily/weekly caps, free transfers, zone boundaries, off-peak pricing) and riders rarely notice small errors—especially with contactless payments. FareGuard connects to supported transit accounts (where available) and your payment method transactions, then reconciles trips against published fare rules. It produces a simple “You may be owed $X” report with evidence (trip times, taps, routes) and generates step-by-step dispute templates tailored to each agency’s process. It also warns you in advance when a pass becomes cheaper than pay-as-you-go based on your recent riding pattern. This is an AI-assisted app (for rule parsing, anomaly detection, and dispute drafting) but relies on deterministic fare calculations where possible.
