FareProof is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that audits your public transit spending and flags incorrect fares, duplicate taps, missing transfers, and fare-cap mistakes. You connect your transit account (where available), import card statements, or forward receipt emails; the app then reconciles trips against each agency’s fare rules and your typical commute patterns. When it finds a likely error, it generates a ready-to-send dispute packet with timestamps, station/route context, and supporting evidence. It also tracks how often issues occur by line/station and estimates your “leakage” over time so you can decide if it’s worth chasing. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules engines for fare logic, plus AI to classify messy statements/receipts and explain disputes clearly. It’s not glamorous, but it saves real money for frequent riders in cities with complex fare systems.
