FareSplit
FareSplit helps groups who share transit costs (roommates, couples, small teams) track and settle fares when one person buys passes, loads cards, or pays contactless for others. Users log purchases (monthly pass, stored value top-ups, day tickets) and tag who benefited (e.g., “2 rides for Alex,” “weekly pass shared 60/40”). The app estimates fair splits using simple rules: per-ride, per-day, or weighted by commute frequency. It then generates a clean monthly statement and one-tap settlement links. It’s realistic: it won’t magically read every city’s fare card data, so it focuses on fast logging, receipt scanning, and optional bank transaction matching to reduce manual work. The goal is to prevent small recurring transit money disputes from becoming relationship friction, while keeping the workflow lightweight enough to actually use.
