FatwaTrace is a web + mobile AI-assisted research app that helps users quickly verify Islamic legal rulings (fatwas) circulating online by tracing them back to primary sources and recognized scholarly bodies. Users paste a claim (e.g., “X is haram”) and the app returns: the closest matching published fatwas, the issuing institution/scholar, madhhab context, evidences cited (Qur’an, hadith, fiqh texts), and any known disagreements. It also flags red signals: missing citations, anonymous authorship, mistranslations, or content farms. The goal is not to “generate fatwas,” but to reduce misinformation and make due diligence easier for non-specialists. A lightweight “Ask your imam” handoff lets users export a clean brief with references for local scholars. Monetization is subscription for advanced tracing, institution profiles, and team accounts for mosques/organizations.
