FaxFreeEHR

FaxFreeEHR is a web app with optional desktop companion that helps clinics and hospitals request, track, and receive outside medical records without fax ping-pong. It generates payer- and provider-friendly request packets, captures patient authorization, and routes requests to the right destination using a directory plus human-in-the-loop verification when data is missing. Incoming records are normalized into a clean “intake bundle” (PDF + key fields) and can be pushed into the EHR via FHIR/HL7 interfaces or delivered as a structured summary for manual import. It focuses on the unglamorous but expensive workflow: referrals, pre-op clearance, ED follow-ups, and continuity-of-care requests. This is not a full EHR replacement; it’s a records acquisition layer that reduces staff time, lost requests, and delayed care. Expect heavy compliance work (HIPAA, BAAs), but the workflow ROI is straightforward to measure.
