FeeMirror
FeeMirror is a mobile + web AI-assisted app that helps individuals decide between DIY investing and hiring an advisor by quantifying the real tradeoffs. Users connect accounts (or upload statements) and answer a short questionnaire about complexity (taxes, RSUs, business income, dependents, retirement timeline). The app estimates an “advisor break-even” point: how much value an advisor must add (tax alpha, behavioral coaching, planning) to justify fees versus a low-cost DIY portfolio. It flags common fee traps (AUM stacking, high-expense funds, annuities riders) and produces a plain-English comparison: DIY plan, hybrid plan (one-time plan + DIY), or ongoing advice. It does not pretend to predict market returns; it focuses on fees, taxes, and behavior—where the math is real. It also generates a checklist of questions to ask an advisor and red flags to avoid.
