FiberScout
FiberScout is a mobile + web app that helps people verify whether a specific address actually has true fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) available, and what performance to expect. Users drop a pin, enter their address, and upload evidence like install photos (ONT, fiber jack), speed tests, and provider order screenshots. The app aggregates submissions into a confidence score per building/block and highlights discrepancies versus ISP coverage claims. It also guides users through a “pre-order checklist” (questions to ask, red flags like “fiber-backed cable”), and generates a shareable report for landlords, HOAs, or neighbors to coordinate demand. This is not a magic bullet: coverage changes fast and data can be messy. The value is in crowdsourced verification, transparency, and reducing the time wasted on sales reps, vague availability tools, and surprise install outcomes.
