Users scan their current filter box label (or take a photo of the filter slot), and the app confirms dimensions, suggests safe MERV ranges based on system type and allergy goals, and sets replacement reminders based on runtime and local air quality. It also tracks purchases, creates a simple maintenance log for warranty/tenant disputes, and can auto-reorder from supported retailers. This is not magic: it won’t “optimize” your HVAC like a pro, but it will prevent the very common, expensive mistakes—wrong size, too-high MERV choking airflow, and forgotten replacements—that lead to comfort issues and service calls.
